Think, Believe, Dream, and Dare

An eight-year-old boy approached an old man in front of a wishing well, looked up into his eyes, and asked: "I understand you're a very wise man. I'd like to know the secret of life."

The old man looked down at the youngster and replied: "I've thought a lot in my lifetime, and the secret can be summed up in four words.

The first is think. Think about the values you wish to live your life by.

The Four Sons

There was a man who had four sons. He wanted his sons to learn not to judge things too quickly. So he sent them each on a quest, in turn, to go and look at a pear tree that was a great distance away.

The first son went in the winter, the second in the spring, the third in summer, and the youngest son in the fall. When they had all gone and come back, he called them together to describe what they had seen.

A Smile c",)

The value of a smile is priceless, yet it is the cheapest, easiest, most rewarding and most sincere gift to anyone that crosses your path.

A smile makes a person's day, anybody's day even a stranger's day.

A smile is infectious. Start infecting people with your smile today.

A smile is nature's best antidote for discouragement. It brings rest to the weary, sunshine to those who are sad, and hope to those who are hopeless and defeated.

A Brother's Love

There was once a little girl who was suffering from a rare and serious disease. Her only chance of recovery appeared to be a blood transfusion from her 5-year old brother, who had miraculously survived the same disease and had developed the antibodies needed to combat the illness.

The doctor explained the situation to her little brother and asked the little boy if he would be willing to give his blood to his sister. He hesitated for only a moment before taking a deep breath and said, "Yes, I'll do it if it will save her."

Believe in Yourself

There may be days when you get up in the morning and things aren't the way you had hoped they would be. That's when you have to tell yourself that things will get better.

There are times when people disappoint you and let you down. But those are the times when you must remind yourself to trust your own judgments and opinions, to keep your life focused on believing in yourself.

Take Risks and Be Free

To live is to risk dying.

To laugh is to risk appearing the fool.

To weep is to risk being called sentimental.

To love is to risk not being loved in return.

To reach out to another is to risk involvement.

To expose feelings is to risk showing your true self.

Paying It Forward

A man was watching his eighty-year-old neighbor planting a small peach tree. He inquired as follows: “You don’t expect to eat peaches from that tree, do you?” The old man rested on his spade and said, “No, at my age I know I won’t. But all my life I’ve enjoyed peaches – but never from a tree I’ve planted. I’m just trying to pay back those fellows who planted the trees for me.”

Be a good father and bring good kids who will blossom into productive citizens.

Be a good boss and influence people who will strive to be the best they can ever be.
