Be Not Afraid

Did you know that the words "Be not afraid" occur more than 365 times in the Bible? Wow! That's a good reminder for every day of the year and more!

Someone once said, "Worry is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do, but it gets you nowhere."

Be not afraid.
Do not worry.
God is in control.
God has a plan.

Be not afraid. "Blessed is anyone who trusts in Yahweh, with Yahweh to rely on." Jeremiah 17:7

The Engineer and The Lawyer

An Engineer dies and reports to the pearly gates. St. Peter checks in his records and declares, "Ah, you are an Engineer. You seem to be in the wrong place."

So the Engineer reports to the gates of hell and is let in. Pretty soon the Engineer gets dissatisfied with the level of comfort in hell. Thanks to him, they have air-conditioning, flushing toilets and escalators. The Engineer became a pretty popular guy.

One day God calls up the Devil on the phone and says, "Hey, how are things are going down there?"

The Devil replies, "Things are great. We've got an Engineer and who knows what he'll think of next."

God replies "What! You've got an engineer! That's a mistake! Send him up here now!"

Satan says "No way!"

God replies, "If you don't I'll sue!" Satan laughs and answers, "Yeah, right! And where are you gonna get a lawyer?"

We've all heard the expression, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away." Well, I've got a good question for you: What if it's true? Wouldn't that be easy to do—to eat an apple a day? Here's the problem: It's also easy not to do.

Neglect starts out as an infection then becomes a disease.

Cardiovascular problems alone create over a thousand funerals a day... and 90% of the problem is neglect.
And one of the reasons many people don't have what they want is neglect.

Kids, You Gotta Love 'em

A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales. The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it was a very large mammal, its throat was very small. The little girl stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale.

Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human; it was physically impossible.

The little girl said, "When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah." The teacher asked, " What if Jonah went to hell?" The little girl replied, "Then you ask him."

Bad Day

A huge black guy walks in to a bar. He goes to a little white guy and took his drink. Then the black guy looks at the white guy and says "Got a problem with that?"

So the white guy says "You know what? I've been having the worst f_ _ _ing day you can think of.

In the morning my wife told me that she is leaving me, than I got fired at my job, then I discover that my car got stolen, and now when I try to kill myself you drink my god-damned poison!"

Today's Message of the Day

Today's Message of the Day is:

Life is short. Break the rules. Forgive quickly. Kiss slowly. Love truly. Laugh uncontrollably. And never regret anything that made you smile.

Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we're here we should dance. God bless you and enjoy your breakfast moment.

10 Guidelines From God

Effective immediately, please be aware that there are changes you need to make in your life. These changes need to be completed in order that I may fulfill My promises to you to grant you peace, joy and happiness in this life. I apologize for any inconvenience, but after all that I am doing this, seems very little to ask of you. Please follow these 10 guidelines:

1. QUIT WORRYING. Life has dealt you a blow and all you do is sit and worry. Have you forgotten that I am here to take all your burdens and carry them for you? Or do you just enjoy fretting over every little thing that comes your way?

2. PUT IT ON THE LIST. Something needs to be done or taken care of. Put it on the list. No, not your list. Put it on My to-do-list. Let Me be the one to take care of the problem. I can't help you until you turn it over to Me. And although My to-do-list is long, I am after all... God. I can take care of anything you put into My hands. In fact, if the truth were ever really known, I take care of a lot of things for you that you never even realize.

3. TRUST ME. Once you've given your burdens to Me, quit trying to take them back. Trust in Me. Have the faith that I will take care of all your needs, your problems and your trials. Problems with the kids? Put them on My list. Problem with finances? Put it on My list. Problems with your emotional roller coaster? For My sake, put it on My list. I want to help you. All you have to do is ask.

4. LEAVE IT ALONE. Don't wake up one morning and say, "Well, I'm feeling much stronger now, I think I can handle it from here." Why do you think you are feeling stronger now? It's simple. You gave Me your burdens and I'm taking care of them. I also renew your strength and cover you in my peace. Don't you Know that if I give you these problems back, you will be right back where you started? Leave them with Me and forget about them. Just let Me do my job.

5. TALK TO ME. I want you to forget a lot of things. Forget what was making you crazy. Forget the worry and the fretting because you know I'm in control. But there's one thing I pray you never forget. Please, don't forget to talk to Me - OFTEN! I love you! I want to hear your voice. I want you to include Me in on the things going on in your life. I want to hear you talk about your friends and family. Prayer is simply having a conversation with Me. I want to be your Dearest friend.

6. HAVE FAITH. I see a lot of things from up here that you can't see from where you are. Have faith in Me that I know what I'm doing. Trust Me; you wouldn't want the view from My eyes. I will continue to care for you, watch over you, and meet your needs. You only have to trust Me. Although I have a much bigger task than you, it seems as if you have so much trouble just doing your simple part. How hard can trust be?

7. SHARE. You were taught to share when you were only two years old. When did you forget? That rule still applies. Share with those who are less fortunate than you. Share your joy with those who need encouragement. Share your laughter with those who haven't heard any in such a long time. Share your tears with those who have forgotten how to cry. Share your faith with those who have none.

8. BE PATIENT. I managed to fix it so in just one lifetime you could have so many diverse experiences. You grow from a child to an adult, have children, change jobs many times, learn many trades, travel to so many places, meet thousands of people, and experience so much. How can you be so impatient then when it takes Me a little longer than you expect to handle something on My to-do-list? Trust in My timing, for My timing is perfect. Just because I created the entire universe in only six days, everyone thinks I should always rush, rush, rush.

9. BE KIND. Be kind to others, for I love them just as much as I love you. They may not dress like you, or talk like you, or live the same way you do, but I still love you all. Please try to get along, for My sake. I created each of you different in some way. It would be too boring if you were all identical. Please, know I love each of your differences.

10. LOVE YOURSELF. As much as I love you, how can you not love yourself? You were created by me for one reason only -- to be loved, and to love in return. I am a God of Love. Love Me. Love your neighbors. But also love yourself. It makes My heart ache when I see you so angry with yourself when things go wrong. You are very precious to Me. Don't ever forget...

Note: I received this from a friend and I have no idea who wrote it, but I was so touched by it that I had to post it and share it with you. I hope that you will be blessed by it and will share it with others.

Touch someone with your love. Rather than focus upon the thorns of life, smell the roses and count your blessings!

Scrabble Deadly

This has got to be one of the most clever e-mails I've received in a while. Someone out there either has too much spare time or is deadly at Scrabble. (Wait till you see the last one!)

How to Recruit The Right Person For the Job?

Put about 100 bricks in some particular order in a closed room with an open window. Then send two or three candidates into the room and close the door.

Leave them alone and come back after six hours and then analyze the situation.

If they are counting the bricks, put them in the accounts department... If they are recounting them, put them in auditing... If they have messed up the whole place with the bricks, put them in engineering and design... If they are arranging the bricks in some strange order, put them in planning...

How To Love Your Brand New Jaguar

A young and successful executive was traveling down a neighborhood street, going a bit too fast in his new Jaguar. He was watching for kids darting out from between parked cars and slowed down when he thought he saw something.

As his car passed, no children appeared. Instead, a brick smashed into the Jag's side door! He slammed on the brakes and backed the Jag back to the spot where the brick had been thrown The angry driver then jumped out of the car, grabbed the nearest kid and pushed him up against a parked car shouting, "What was that all about and who are you? Just what the heck are you doing? That's a new car and that brick you threw is going to cost a lot of money. Why did you do it?"

The Cup Of Life

Henri Nouwen, in his book Can You Drink the Cup? offers the cup as a metaphor for life. Like the cup, life is to be held first, lifted up, before we can truly drink from it.

Holding: He says, “Just living life is not enough; we must know what we are living. Half of living is reflection on what is being lived. Reflection is essential for growth, development and change. When we drink the cup without holding it first, we may simply get drunk and wander around aimlessly.”

The Gift Of Hope

When I was young, I came across a story that left a permanent imprint on my mind.

It was about a man who announced to his two grandchildren that he won in the sweepstakes.

Both were freshmen at a university, so the grandfather declared that who ever shall finish college with honors would get the prize money, the certificate of which was kept in a bank’s safety deposit box.

A Carrot, An Egg, And A Cup Of Coffee

A carrot, an egg, and a cup of coffee... You will never look at a cup of coffee the same way again.

A young woman went to her father and told him about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose.

Her father took her to the kitchen. He filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to boil. In the first he placed carrots, in the second he placed eggs, and in the last he placed ground coffee beans. He let them sit and boil, without saying a word.

"He who ignores discipline despises himself, but whoever heeds correction gains understanding." – Proverbs 15:32

Refusing to listen to godly instruction and discipline oneself is self-destructive. While it is a natural reaction to be defensive to corrective counsel, the wise will accept and heed such godly correction and discipline from their friends and fellow believers.

Happy Birthday ACE!

When my son Ace was born, I got so excited to see him grow that I had to remind myself to take it one step at a time.

Newborns are not yet fully developed and their diet should depend on their developmental stage. No iron in their milk for the first six months. Begin feeding solids at six months but only with pureed foods. No honey, egg whites or veg at least for the first year. So much to consider!

But now, I see Ace so healthy, he's so smart that mostly he's on top of his class. He's so prayerful and starting to build a relationship with God. He's having faith in his own ideas. He's so kind, thoughtful, caring, and I really love to hear him laugh. He is such a nice little boy to everyone, especially to his little brother, and he is my son. And it's his 7th Birthday today.

Son, may you grow happier and be blessed always!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ACE! We love you so much. Your birthday makes this day all the more special and beautiful.

Kissed By A Nun

Sitting in the back of a taxi, a nun notices that the cab driver is staring at her. "I don't want to offend you," he says, "but my fantasy is to be kissed by a nun."

"Well, all right," says the nun. "But you have to be a practising Catholic and single. The driver says he is, so the nun plants a lingering, passionate kiss on his lips. The man is momentarily ecstatic but then starts crying.

"What's the matter?" asks the nun. "Forgive me, Sister, but I have sinned. I lied to you: I'm married and I'm Jewish."

The nun says, "Oh, that's OK. My name's Kevin and I'm off to a fancy dress party."

Who's The Boss

A junior manager, a senior manager and their boss were on their way to a lunch meeting. In the taxi, they found a lamp. The boss rubbed it, and a genie appeared. "I'll grant you one wish each" the genie said.

Grabbing the lamp from his boss, the eager senior manager shouted, "I want to be on a fast boat in the Bahamas with no worries." And, poof, he was gone.

The junior manager couldn't keep quiet. He shouted, "I want to be in California, with beautiful girls, food and cocktails." And, poof, he was gone.

Finally, it was the boss's turn. "I want those idiots back in the office after lunch."

Secret In Giving

Let me share with you my secret in giving. The less I have, the more I give. The more hesitant I am to give, the more I give. The more I struggle to give, the more I give. Because that’s when I believe I’m really giving.

Of course, I know that you cannot give what you do not have. But I know, too, that no one can be totally empty that you have nothing to give. Run a checklist of your three T’s — treasure, time and talent — and you know you must have one of these to share. Giving can also be “giving up” of some things for a higher cause. You can “give up” your pride by admitting your faults and

Blessings For All

Have you noticed how that lazy, stubborn, good-for-nothing bum breathes the same air that you breathe — for free?

Do you see how that loudmouth, backstabbing, slandering neighbor or classmate or officemate of yours get warmed by the same sun and showered by the same rain?

Observe how all people are blessed by God every day. Why? Because God loves them all. God loves us all.

But here’s the catch.

Unique Genius

“What, then, will this child be?” – Luke 1: 66

A teacher once told Michael’s mother that he’d never be able to focus on anything in his life because of his difficulty in focusing on the lessons in the classroom.

As a boy, he was diagnosed with ADHD. He’d often stand up and can’t stay quiet. It was very hard for him to concentrate. At the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Michael Fred Phelps won eight gold medals in various swimming events — the most gold reaped by anyone in a single Olympics. That’s aside from the various awards and records he still holds.

Often, we hold biases and beliefs about how a child would grow up based on what they are now and what they do.

We tend to box a child (or other people for that matter) with what we see or of our impression of what they do. We relegate them to the sidelines. The cruelest thing we do is give up on them.

God made us great with our own unique genius. We should treat others and ourselves as such.

Fail To Succeed

It's okay to fail. Never be afraid of failure. Failure is the only pathway to success. So fail often. And fail quickly. So that you can start again. The most successful people in the world are those who have failed the most.
