Two Distinct Choices

Each of us has two distinct choices to make about what we will do with our lives. The first choice we can make is to be less than we have the capacity to be. To earn less. To have less. To read less and think less. To try less and discipline ourselves less. These are the choices that lead to an empty life. These are the choices that, once made, lead to a life of constant apprehension instead of a life of wondrous anticipation.

And the second choice? To do it all! To become all that we can possibly be. To read every book that we possibly can. To earn as much as we possibly can. To give and share as much as we possibly can. To strive and produce and accomplish as much as we possibly can. All of us have the choice.

To do or not to do. To be or not to be. To be all or to be less or to be nothing at all.

Slow Down

Someone said that if you treat a cold, it lasts for seven days. If you don't treat it, it lasts for one week! So, when cold comes, all we really need is rest, lots of liquid and lots of sleep.

Have a healthy breakfast moment. Slow down and be silent.

Just Give It A Shot

When dreaming of a personal accomplishment, most people make the mistake of waiting...

- Waiting until they've been trained
- Waiting till someone says they are ready
- Waiting till they have the proper tools
- Waiting till they're better
- Waiting till they're hired
- Waiting till they've been given the assignment

Question: There are 3 frogs on a leaf. If one of them decided to jump off the leaf into the water, how many frogs are left on the leaf?

Answer: THREE

Why? Because the frog only DECIDED to jump! Ponder over this, my friends. Are you, not unlike the frog; who decides to do this, decides to do that, but ended up not doing any? In life, we have to make many decisions. Some easy, some hard. Most mistakes are not made by wrong decisions. Most mistakes are made due to improper decisions. We have to live with the consequences of our decisions. And that is called RISK.

Enjoy your breakfast moment and always find time to learn how to manage risk instead of being afraid of taking it. Always give it a shot.

A Matter Of Choice

I woke up early today, excited over all I get to do before the clock strikes midnight.

I have responsibilities to fulfill today.

I am important.

My job is to choose what kind of day I am going to have.

Today, I can complain because the weather is rainy or I can be thankful that the grass is getting watered for free.

Today, I can feel sad that I don't have more money or I can be glad that my finances encourage me to plan purchases wisely and guide me away from waste.

Today, I can grumble about my health or I can rejoice that I am alive.

Today, I can lament over all that my parents didn't give me when I was growing up or I can feel grateful that they allowed me to be born.

Today, I can mourn my lack of friends or I can excitedly embark upon a quest to discover new relationships.

Today, I can whine because I have to go to work or I can shout for joy because I have a job to do.

Today, I can murmur dejectedly because I have to do housework or I can feel honored because the Lord has provided shelter for my mind, body, and soul.

Today stretches ahead of me, waiting to be shaped. And here I am, the sculptor who gets to do the shaping.

What today will be like is up to me.

Have a nice breakfast moment and remember this: If God took something away from your grasp, He's not punishing you; but merely emptying your hand for you to receive something better.

Our morning thoughts may determine our conduct for the day. Optimistic thoughts will make our day bright and productive, while pessimistic thinking will make it dull and wasteful. Let's face each day cheerfully, smilingly and courageously, and it will naturally follow that our work will be a real pleasure and progress will be a delightful accomplishment.

Have a nice breakfast moment & may God bless us all.

The Saddest Story

Peter, John, and Matthew were at a convention together and were sharing a large suite on the top of a 75 storey sky scraper. After a long day of meetings they were shocked to hear that the elevators in their hotel were broken and they would have to climb 75 flights of stairs to get to their room. Peter said to John and Matthew, let's break the monotony of this unpleasant task by concentrating on something interesting. I'll tell jokes for 25 flights, and John can sing songs for 25 flights, and Matthew can tell sad stories the rest of the way. At the 26th floor Peter stopped telling jokes and John began to sing. At the 51st floor John stopped singing and Matthew began to tell sad stories. "I will tell my saddest story first," he said. "I left the room key in the car!"

Have a funny breakfast moment. Laughter is still the best medicine.

The Boy and The Fence

There once was a little boy who had a bad temper. His father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence.

The first day, the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered gradually dwindled down. Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper. The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone.

The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. He said, "You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. It won't matter how many times you say I'm sorry, the wound is still there. A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one.

Have a nice breakfast moment and remember that you should never lose your temper in an argument. If you’re right, you don’t need to. If you’re wrong, you can’t afford to.

Proud To Be Pinoy!

We Filipinos have a very unique way of calling others by making the "psst" sound. Try this sometime. When you are abroad (as I've experienced it), and you are not sure if the fellow ahead is a Filipino, a Malaysian, or a Thai, make the "psst" sound. If he turns his head, you've found a kabayan.

There is something else that is very unique to us Pinoys. We point with our lips. We are the only people in the world that point at people, things, and directions with our protruding lips!

There is another thing that I'm proud of as a Filipino... it's Manny Pacquiao!

Enjoy your breakfast moment.

Mommy, I'm Sick

A child came crying to his mother and complained that he has severe stomach ache. She told him, "It is because your belly is empty. Come and have some food." The child obeyed. On the next day, the mother had a heavy head ache. The child consoled her and said innocently, "Mommy, it is because your head is empty!"

On another occasion, the curious child asked his mother, "Mommy, why are some of your hairs turn gray?" "My dear," she said, trying to reform him, "It is because of you. Every bad action you do turns one of my hairs gray!" The child replied innocently, "Really! Now I know why grandma has only gray hairs on her head."

Have a funny breakfast moment.

Who's Talking?

Who's talking? They say that during courtship, the man talks and the woman listens. Once married, it is the wife who talks, and the husband listens. After some more years, both husband and wife talk, and the neighbor listens.

Have a quiet breakfast moment and remember that true life is all about pleasing Him, and not so much myself, nor my neighbors.

Albert Einstein is said to have once said: "Men love women with the hope they will never change. Women love men with the hope they will change. Invariably they are both disappointed."

Lord, thank you for loving me as I am, no matter what I am. Amen.

House of 1000 Mirrors

Long ago in a small, far away village, there was a place known as the House of 1000 Mirrors. A small, happy little dog learned of this place and decided to visit. When he arrived, he bounced happily up the stairs to the doorway of the house. He looked through the doorway with his ears lifted high and his tail wagging as fast as it could. To his great surprise, he found himself staring at 1000 other happy little dogs with their tails wagging just as fast as his. He smiled a great smile, and was answered with 1000 great smiles just as warm and friendly. As he left the House, he thought to himself, "This is a wonderful place. I will come back and visit it often."

In this same village, another little dog, who was not quite as happy as the first one, decided to visit the house. He slowly climbed the stairs and hung his head low as he looked into the door. When he saw the 1000 unfriendly looking dogs staring back at him, he growled at them and was horrified to see 1000 little dogs growling back at him. As he left, he thought to himself, "That is a horrible place, and I will never go back there again."

Have a nice breakfast moment and remember that all the faces in the world are mirrors. What kind of reflections do you see in the faces of the people you meet?

Never Give Up On Your Dreams

Never give up believing in yourself. Whenever you doubt yourself, remember some of the many inspirational stories below of failure being turned into major success by amazing people we all know and respect. Every one of us can make a big difference if we only choose to believe in ourselves and n
ever give up. Please help to spread these inspirational stories to all you know so that both individually and collectively we might more fully live our awesome potential.

Henry Ford failed and went broke five times before he finally succeeded.

Beethoven handled the violin awkwardly and preferred playing his own compositions instead of improving his technique. His teacher called him hopeless as a composer.

Walt Disney was fired by a newspaper editor for lack of ideas. Disney also went bankrupt several times before he built Disneyland.

Albert Einstein did not speak until he was four years old and didn’t read until he was seven. His teacher described him as “mentally slow, unsociable and adrift forever in his foolish dreams.” He was expelled and refused admittance to Zurich Polytechnic School. The University of Bern turned down his P
h.D. dissertation as being irrelevant and fanciful.

The movie Star Wars was rejected by every movie studio in Hollywood before 20th-Century Fox finally produced it. It wen
t on to be one of the largest grossing movies in film history.
Enjoy your breakfast moment and yes, we can! Just don't give up on your dreams.

Somebody shared with me this story about children who were lined up in the cafeteria of a Catholic elementary school for lunch. At the end of the table was a large tray of apples with the note, written by a nun: "Take only one. God is watching."

At the end of the table was a large pile of chocolate cookies. A child had a written note: "Take all you want. God is watching the apples."

Have a funny breakfast moment and let's go beyond legalisms and compromise, and to keep going the extra mile, and one more smile.

Enjoy The Coffee Instead

A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life. Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups - porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite - telling them to help themselves to the hot coffee.

When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said: "If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal for each of you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup. But you consciously went for the best cups and were eyeing each other's cups. Now if life is coffee, then the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, but the quality of Life doesn't change. Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee in it."

Have a nice breakfast moment and don't let the cups drive you... enjoy the coffee instead!

Stealing Moment

An 80-year old man was arrested for shop lifting. When he went before the judge he asked him, "What did you steal?" He replied: a can of peaches. The judge asked him why he had stolen them and he replied that he was hungry. The judge then asked him how many peaches were in the can. He replied 6. The judge then said, "I will give you 6 days in jail."

Before the judge could actually pronounce the punishment the man's wife spoke up and asked the judge if she could say something. He said, "What is it?" The wife said "He also stole a can of peas."

Have a funny breakfast moment and note that it is not good for all our wishes to be filled; through sickness we recognize the value of health; through evil, the value of good; through hunger, the value of food; through exertion, the value of rest.

Asking God Moment

A young man once asked God how long a million years was to him. God replied, "A million years to me is just like a single second in your time." Then the young man asked God what a million dollars was to Him. God replied, "A million dollars to me is just like a single penny to you." Then the young man got his courage up and asked: "God, could I have one of your pennies?" God smiled and replied, "Certainly, just a second."

Enjoy your breakfast moment and remember that when you pray, rather let your heart be without words than your words without heart.

Fishing Moment

One day, an 82-year old man who loves to fish was sitting in his boat when he heard a voice say, "Pick me up." He looked around and couldn't see any one. He thought he was just dreaming when he heard the voice say again, "Pick me up." He looked in the water and there, floating was a frog. The man said, "Are you talking to me?" The frog said, "Yes, I'm talking to you. Pick me up. Then, kiss me and I'll turn into the most beautiful woman you have ever seen."

The man looked at the frog for a short time, reached over, picked it up carefully, and placed it in his front breast pocket. Then the frog said, "What, are you nuts? Didn't you hear what I said? I said kiss me and I will turn into the most beautiful woman you have never seen." He opened his pocket, looked at the frog and said, "Nah, at my age I'd rather have a talking frog."

Enjoy your breakfast moment and remember that we we're born alone, we live alone, we die alone. Only through our love and friendship can we create the illusion for the moment that we're not alone.

Seeing God Moment

A middle-aged woman had a heart attack and was taken to the hospital. While on the operating table she had a near-death experience. Seeing God, she asked if this was it. God said "No, you have another 43 years, 2 months, and 8 days to live."

Upon recovery, the woman decided to stay in the hospital and have a face lift, liposuction, breast augmentation, tummy tuck, you name it. She even had someone come in and change her hair color. Since she had so much more time to live, she figured she might as well make the most of it.

She got out of the hospital after the last operation, and while crossing the street she was killed by an ambulance speeding to the hospital. Arriving in front of God, she demanded, "I thought, you said, I had another 40 years?" God replied, "I didn't recognize you."

Moral lesson? Oh, you know it! Just enjoy your breakfast moment.

Magic Moments

Breakfast moments, magic moments? We all have them but not all of us acknowledge them. Hmmm... How come?

Well, let's firstly take a moment to recapture a magic moment. Think about a time, like, when you felt special. A time when you felt bigger on the inside than you were physically on the outside. A time when you felt like you were going to burst with excitement, enthusiasm, wonder and love. A time when you glowed and people noticed. A time when you knew you had done something very good. It may have been as simple as helping an injured bird or tying your child's shoelaces. Or maybe even a job promotion. Perhaps the birth of your child or their first steps. Maybe it was a card or flowers with special thoughts attached. Could have been the smell of the ocean or the spring flowers, rain on a window pane or maybe it was your first kiss.

Whatever it was, all these things are special moments. Magic moments that we all too often forget. We experience them but then within no time at all, we begin to think about the growing pile of bills, or the car that needs repairs or the serious lack of time, and as a consequence found yourself back stuck in the rut again with thoughts of not so magic moments.

See, life is really very short and for most of us we will be happy to experience perhaps just 70 birthdays, and with each passing birthday our lives change and so do our opportunities. We will, on average, sleep only one third of our lives or 220,000 hours. The opportunities that existed yesterday may never come your way again and you may find yourself regretting what you didn't do instead of what you did do. Pretty scary stuff huh?

Well then why not take the time now. Why not sit with someone special and recapture those magic moments, and as you do, consider that whilst you are doing this very thing, you are also in effect creating yet another magic moment.

Enjoy your breakfast moment and I wish you all the best.

Waiting Moment

While taking breakfast one morning, I noticed a guy who had been trying to get his waiter's attention for ages. Finally, the angry customer grew tired of waiting. He stood up and shouted out, "I need more tea!"

Annoyed, the waiter came over. "You don't have to yell. I'm not deaf," he scolded. "Sorry," the man said. "That was rude of me." "It's OK," the waiter said. "Now what do you want in your coffee?"

Have a nice breakfast moment and remember this: Waiting is a trap. There will always be reasons to wait... The truth is, there are only two things in life, reasons and results, and reasons simply don't count.

Smoking Moment

Today, after a few hours of working with my technical associate, I noticed that I hadn't seen him lit up a cigarette once. "Are you trying to kick the habit?" I asked curiously.

"No," he replied. "I've got a cold and I don't smoke when I'm not feeling well." "You know," I observed, "you'd probably live longer if you were sick more often."

Have a healthy breakfast moment and remember that you own yourself, so if you want to do something that destroys yourself, go ahead. Just don't harm others when you do.

Picture Perfect

Today, I want to challenge you guys. What is wrong in this picture?

Enjoy your breakfast moment and happy halloween to all.

Golf Moment

A golfer was way behind in the championship game when he hit his ball into the rough. Bending to retrieve it, he came face to face with a leprechaun. "Want some help with your game?" the leprechaun asked. "That would be great!" "OK," said the leprechaun. "But for every time I help, you'll lose one year of your sex life." The golfer agreed and won the game.

Getting into his car later, he found the leprechaun sitting on his dashboard with a pad and pencil. "I helped you ten times," the leprechaun said. "That's ten years. Now, what's your name?" "Father John."

Enjoy your breakfast moment and remember that a good objective of leadership is to help those who are doing poorly to do well and to help those who are doing well to do even better.
