Let's Help the Victims of Tropical Storm Ondoy

Here is a story I heard about how people trap monkeys.

Food is placed inside an empty coconut shell. The monkey would put his hand into the shell through a little hole and would grab the food. But when it would pull out his hand, it would not fit through the hole anymore because of its closed fist holding the food.

If only it would let go of the food, the monkey could go away freely. But the monkey would not let go, and so it was easily trapped.

Have a nice breakfast moment. And may I ask, what are those things you cannot let go? Is it your pride, your sins, your vices, your riches? Maybe these are the things that "trap you." As we go on in life, may our hands be more open in giving and in sharing. Let us give, while we live. Let's help victims of Tropical Storm Ondoy.
